About Margaret Ngumi, PMHNP-BC

Margaret Ngumi, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner based in Marietta, Georgia. A registered nurse since 2004 and a nurse practitioner since 2012, she has spent over two decades in healthcare and now practices full-time in psychiatry. She is the founder of Haven Integrative Psychiatry, where she treats adults navigating depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and relational rupture.

Margaret is the co-author of Just Write: A Guided Journal for Growth, Healing & Self-Discovery, written with Eva Wambui. The journal grew out of what Margaret kept hearing in session — that people had nowhere to put the parts of grief, heartbreak, and self-blame that didn't have language yet. Every section of the book reflects her clinical work: the grief and loss prompts, the heartbreak arc, the inner child work, and the Emotional Crisis Plan — a structured safety planning tool adapted from evidence-based crisis intervention practice for use outside of a clinical setting.

Margaret holds dual board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (PMHNP-BC) and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (FNP-C). She practices in Georgia and writes publicly about mental health on Instagram at @noni_psychnp.
